Maximo Laura Teaching Tour to Sweden

World renowned Peruvian Tapestry Weaver, Maximo Laura, and his daughter and assistant teacher, Paola Laura, will be visiting Sweden in May and teaching three, one week (5 days) courses at different venues around the country. They will be bringing their portable table looms and all the yarn and necessary supplies and each course will be a really special experience. Maximo was declared by the United Nations in 2010 as a Living World Treasure. His work has been exhibited internationally and he loves to teach. Course languages will be English, Spanish and Swedish.

Textile Art & the Peruvian Cultural Heritage
Examining and working with traditional designs and local expert artisans, to expand our knowledge, share skills and deepen our understanding of this amazing culture. Working with our Peruvian counterparts, we share laughter, fun and insights and language is no barrier ( though its great if you speak a little Spanish!) Hands-on workshops, talks, demonstrations . Sight seeing includes Machu Picchu (of course) , amazing archeological sites and a chance to see a traditional ceremony of thanks (Despacho). We visit markets, shops and studios, trying not to spend ALL our money on the tempting textiles, (old and new), jewellery, ceramics and much more!
Special for this Tour is a 2 day workshop with Master Weaver, Maximo Laura.
